The long-term humanitarian crisis inside eastern Burma has created a perfect storm for reproductive health. Maternal mortality and other reproductive health indicators for populations inside eastern Burma are among the worst in the world. Undocumented migrants living in Thailand also face poor reproductive health outcomes because they cannot safely access the Thai healthcare system and suffer from a lack of access to family planning, safe legal abortion, prenatal care and skilled birth attendants.
From 2008-2012 BBP worked with a team of researchers, consultants and volunteers to partner with community-based organizations along the Thai-Burma border dedicated to improving reproductive health.
